SMOOTH OPERATOR FX GUIDE

Can you use an EA with a prop firm? Check the rules first.

There is no universal answer. Some firms permit Expert Advisors, some restrict particular forms of automation, and rules can differ between evaluation and funded stages. The trader needs to verify the current rules for the exact account.

1. Is automated trading explicitly allowed?

Do not assume that having MetaTrader means every form of automation is permitted. Check the firm's current rules for Expert Advisors or algorithmic trading.

2. Are third-party EAs treated differently?

Some providers may distinguish between software you developed yourself and widely distributed third-party strategies, particularly when they monitor correlated or identical trading behavior across accounts.

3. What are the copy-trading or identical-strategy rules?

Automation and copy trading are not always treated as the same thing. Verify whether matching trades across accounts, signals or shared strategies create restrictions.

4. How is daily loss calculated?

Check whether daily drawdown is based on balance, equity, starting balance, a fixed amount, a trailing reference, or another formula. Confirm whether floating P/L is included and when the daily reset occurs.

5. Are there news restrictions?

A firm may allow EAs while restricting entries, exits or open positions around specified news events. A news filter in the EA does not replace reading the firm's current rulebook.

6. Are weekend positions allowed?

Check Friday close requirements, weekend holding restrictions and any rules around market gaps or platform shutdowns.

7. Is the required platform actually available?

An EA written for MT5 needs an MT5 account. A prop firm may offer other platforms or may change platform availability over time.

How Prop-Safe is intended to help

Smooth Operator FX Prop-Safe uses a fixed reference-balance sizing concept and account-wide daily-loss controls in its reference setup. Those features are tools for disciplined risk behavior; they are not a guarantee of compliance with any particular firm. Review the Prop-Firm EA page and verify the provider's current rules yourself.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

Evaluate the software, not just the marketing.

Review the documented historical test, then use demo access to check installation, risk settings and broker behavior before choosing a paid license.
